A Hug Away Medical Supplies, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HME Coordinator to oversee our medical supply operations. This role is ideal for a highly organized, compassionate professional with strong HME experience who thrives in a patient-focused, compliance-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Control: Conduct monthly inventory audits, track usage, monitor expiration dates, and coordinate restocking.
- Sales & Order Coordination: Oversee the DME order process from intake to delivery and follow-up, including insurance verification and patient education.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with Medicare, HQAA, HIPAA, and OSHA standards; maintain required documentation and operational logs.
- Customer Service: Address patient concerns, resolve issues promptly, and conduct post-delivery satisfaction calls.
- Vendor & Partner Communication: Liaise with suppliers, delivery staff, referral sources, and healthcare partners.
- Reporting: Compile and submit monthly inventory and sales reports; contribute to quarterly quality improvement reports (QAPI).
- Marketing Support: Assist with community outreach and referrals; implement in-store promotions and education events.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Supply operations.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare billing, DME regulations, and patient education.
- Proficiency with Brightree.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
