Job Summary:
We are seeking a serious, compassionate, experienced, dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our home health and hospice agency as the Director of Nurses. This position will require both field and office duties, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care, ensuring high standards of documentation, and leading a diverse team. The ideal candidate will be solution-driven, bilingual (preferred), and able to work effectively with different cultures, ages and ethnic groups in a professional and inclusive manner. The role demands strong organizational skills, a high level of documentation, and a willingness to teach and mentor staff.
This position is for both hospice and home health, although hospice experience in hospice care is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the nursing team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Ensure the clinical staff is educated and the development of such is ongoing.
- Develop and implement processes to ensure an organized approach to daily tasks.
- Willing to Learn new things and play a key role in the growth of the company.
- Develop relationships in the clinical community and act as a source of education for nonclinicians for any marketing endeavors.
- Ensure quality assurance and compliance of clinical notes and processes.
- Participate with local and federal agencies to ensure successful surveys.
- Encourage growth physically and intellectually.
- Work closely with management in the hiring of talented staff to ensure the company vision and goals are met.
Patient Care:
- Oversee and coordinate patient care plans, ensuring they meet the needs of each patient.
- Conduct field visits to assess patient conditions and provide direct care as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care is delivered as a part of the everyday culture.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and medical records.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Conduct regular audits of patient charts and documentation to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and policies.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to improve patient outcomes.
- Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
- Participate in QA meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Education and Training:
- Provide education and training to nursing staff on best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Mentor and support new staff members, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development among the nursing team.
Cultural Competence:

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Current and valid RN license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Experience in hospice care is preferred.
- Experience working with or willingness to work with children required
- Bilingual (preferred)
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Knowledge of current Medicare guidelines and able to ensure compliance.
- Open to working with families with children and the ability to get these families clinical care either through personal care or human resource contacts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
